Tianjin Toastmasters Club (TTMC) was founded in February 1999 and
was charted just two months later in April 1999, making it the second
Toastmasters club in China. TTMC is
sponsored by PPG Coatings (Tianjin) Co Ltd., French Paris Bank, and the
Sheraton Hotel. The first club meeting
was in the Sheraton Hotel, in 2001 the club moved to Tianjin Dickson Hotel
before moving to the Olympic Hotel in 2002 and finally in 2004 the Friendship
Hotel where we still meet today. In
2008 TTMC earned the highest club honor, the President’s Distinguished Club and
we were chosen to host the 2009 District Spring Conference in May, attracting 150+
Toastmasters and guest from all over Northern China.
The club has had some very influential members from diverse cross
section of society, including blue, white and gold collar workers including
some business owners. Some of the club
members have become Advance Communicators and Competent Leaders and even area
governors within Toastmasters. TMMC has also sponsored other Toastmasters in
the Tianjin area. Many members have
benefited from improving their communication and leadership skills in their
both personal and business lives. WHY

My first year in college I was suppose to give a short speech to
my class of 20 students, I dropped the class. Today I have given hour-long
presentation on two different continents to audiences in excess of several
hundred, because of the confidence that Toastmaster’s has given me.
It doesn’t matter if you speak poor English or
you are a native English speaker Toastmasters will give you a relaxed friendly
atmosphere to improve your English.
Toastmasters can also help you improve your leadership skills and just
think of where you could go with better communication and leadership
skills. Tianjin Toastmasters Club is
